
"Utsavam" is for the restoration of divine "Chaithanyam" of Deity by performing necessary purification and energization rituals.
Calturally it consists of various procession,illuminations, fireworks,art-forms etc......
The Annual "Utsavam" of Kunnam Sridharama Sastha Temple celebrating during the Malayala month of "Medam"(Apr-May)
The "Kodiyetu" (Flag hosting ceremony as a prelude to the festival) takes place on "Utram Naksahtram" and "Arattu"
(bathing ceremony)of the Lord marking the end of the festival. The ten days "Utsavam" is conducted with full religious fervor
adhering to the traditional rituals and the caltural programmes staged in connection with the "Utsavam".

The "Tanthri" first invokes the deity by "tantrick" rituals such as "Kalasam" and other poojas, and then infuses aura on to the flag .After fur-
her poojas the consecrated flag is hosted the flagstaff.
9th day is the major day of 10 days long festival,on this day in addition to regular items " "is the special event ,
Jeevatha kali is the major attraction of" " .It's performed by "Namboothiries"wearing their traditional dress .They
carry jeevatha on the shoulders and perform the step-dance(Thalam chavittal).After" " Pallivetta(holy hunting)
is performed at midninght.
The 10 days long "Utsavam" culminate with a grand " " procession

After the " " the procession returns to the temple the rituals of " " starts
